Patacona has a rich variaty of restaurants and bars. Along the beach walk there are several, among others our favourite Birra & Blues.
In the unlikely event of feeling content with the local range, there are countless more in the surrounding districts. Along the beach walk to the city center of Valencia, there are several cosy restaurants, most of them specializing in fish and seafood.
Of couse you have to try the Valencia paella - The rice dish that counts as one of the Spanish national dishes. In Spain, Valencia is also known for it night life and rich cultural offerings. Among the local specialities additional to paella, there are Fartons, the drinks Agua de Valencia and the nutsedge plant drink Horchata de Chufa as well as Fideua - a pasta variation of the paella.
In the city center, there is the El Mercado Central. The enormous food court made in modernistic style in 1914, and can be seen as a food cathedral with its dome more than 30 meter high with windows high up in the ceiling. The food court is built on a market square with a 1000 year ancestry from the Valencia Mooric period. In there you can find all sorts of food as fish, fruit, meat, herbs and spices. Outside you can buy your Paella pan. Mercado Central is one of Spain's biggest and one of Europe's oldest food court still in operation. It can house around 400 merchants with over 1500 employees running food stores, food stands, restaurants and more. A very popular attraction, both among tourists and Valencia citizens.
