The people in Valencia always loves a good party. Les Falles (Las Fallas in Castillano) is the single biggest fiesta in Valencia. It peaks when the gigantic papier-maché figures are brought in procession through the city, where it subsequently (with the exception of the winner) is torched through the nigh between the 19th and 20th of March. The celebrations runs from the 15th to the 19th of march and is tributed to the honour of the Saint Joseph ; 19th of March is the Saint Joseph Day. But already the 1st of March, the start reving up the excitement with activities and arrangements as the masclétas and petardos; bangers and firework.
In Spain, Valencia is known for its late party life and range of cultural activities. Also ther are well visited racing weekends on the racing track Circuit de la Comunitat Valenciana Ricardo Tormo, just outside town.
If you want to see top class soccer, you've come to the right place: Valencia has two top teams Levante UD and Valencia CF both regulars in the highest league La liga. At special games, the stadiums Mestalla (that can take up to 55000 spectators) and Ciutat de València is filled but at other games there are usually no problems getting good tickets at the stadiums just before kick-off.
